About the artist
Rosalind Hawthorne Kirk. She takes a “wee keek” and usually takes photos from her 3rd floor balcony in a flat on the Prom in Portobello towards Fife or East Lothian or while she walks or jogs along the beach. Most were taken during lockdown and were usually then subject to colour changes and/or some over-painting. Alongside other paid employment, she practiced stained glass work for many years usually panels. Before this she developed skills in hand sewing patchwork quilts and other soft furnishings. Patchwork patterns influenced her glasswork design. Similarly, the luminosity, vividness and colour purity of glasswork influences her current work. If you don’t see the design or colours or size or type of thing you want such as a tea light or apron then please ask, commissions are always possible.
